Business Outreach

I believe it is critical to develop effective linkages between the state of the art in management research and the state of practice in business. During 2000-2001 I had a special appointment as Professor in Residence at IBM Printing Systems Division in Boulder, CO to develop partnerships between CU and IBM.  I am actively involved in field research, consulting and public speaking. I have published books on hiring and on employee retention targeted to line managers as well as higher education administrators, and  wrote and edited a monthly column in the Boulder County Business Report entitled "On Management" that explored the human side of running a business.
